Terms of Service

By using MyCareerProof you agree to these terms.

What the service does

It reads documents you supply, builds a professional profile from them, and produces a résumé and an optional public page. It does not apply for jobs on your behalf and does not guarantee any outcome.

What it will not do

It will not state anything your documents do not support. If it cannot evidence a claim, it asks you or leaves it out. That constraint is the product; you should not expect it to embellish, and you should not ask it to.

Your responsibilities

Names and subdomains

A published site lives at a name you choose under mycareerproof.com. Names that impersonate a company or a person, or that are chosen to mislead, may be reclaimed. Names reserved for the service itself cannot be taken.

The name is yours while the account is. If a paid account lapses, the published page comes down and the name is held for thirty days before it is released.

Payment

Every plan is sold yearly or monthly — you choose which at checkout, and the price of each is stated on the pricing page before you pay. Whichever you pick is billed in advance through Stripe and renews until you cancel.

Cancel any time. The plan runs to the end of the period already paid for. Payments are not refunded — cancelling in month two of a year does not refund the remaining ten, and closing your account ends the plan immediately without refunding the rest of the period either. That is said here plainly rather than discovered afterwards, and it is a policy we are willing to state because nobody has to buy this to find out what it does: the free tier is one whole run on your own résumé, with the entire result on screen, before any card is involved.

Two things are not refunds and are not covered by that. Being charged more than once for the same thing, or charged after cancelling, is a mistake and will be put right. And where your local law gives you a cancellation right that overrides this, your law wins — we are not going to argue with a statute.

Prices may change with thirty days' notice to account holders, and a change never applies to a period already paid for. If a payment fails the account keeps working while Stripe retries — nobody's site comes down over an expired card.

Your content

Your documents and your profile remain yours. You grant only the permission needed to run the service: to store, process and — when you publish — display them. That permission ends when you delete the content.

Ending it

You may close your account at any time, from your account page. It takes everything with it — the documents you uploaded, the profile built from them, every published page and the name it was published at — and the name goes back into the pool for someone else to claim. It is not reversible, no copy is kept, and a paid plan ends at that moment rather than at the end of the period paid for.

Accounts may be suspended for impersonation, for publishing knowingly false claims about other people, or for attempting to disrupt the service.

Who may use it

You must be 18 or older, or the age of majority where you live if that is higher. This is a service about employment history that takes payment and publishes pages on the open internet; it is not built for children and is not offered to them.

Warranty and liability

The service is provided as it is. It may be unavailable, and it may make mistakes — which is why every change it makes is shown next to what it replaced. To the extent the law allows, liability is limited to what you paid in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
